The Charlotte Gem Preservation Awards is the premier fundraising event for the Museum and is hosted across the entire campus of the Museum. The event celebrates Charlotte’s unique history and culture through performances, immersive activities and tours, music, and food and drink. This event honors outstanding projects in historic preservation and history education in the Greater Charlotte region. For 2026 the theme is “Stars and Stripes Forever” in honor of America 250 and the augmented reality exhibit (which is the primary feature of this year’s Gem Awards).
