YEAR BUILT 1960

Designed by notable 20th-century church architect Harold Wagoner, St. Mark’s Lutheran is a beautiful example of midcentury modern architecture for a public space. The clean lines, exposed wooden beams and floor-to-ceiling windows bring a modern sensibility to this stunning, soaring space. Wagoner also designed the midcentury modern landmark National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., among hundreds of other sacred spaces he created in dozens of states.
