The museum has begun our first stage of reopening to the public, starting with the opening of the grounds of the 1774 Alexander Homesite one Saturday each month. Visit the Events Page to purchase tickets for upcoming An Afternoon on the Grounds experiences.
Each month this fall, visitors can explore the historic site and learn about Charlotte history safely. Visit the Events page to learn more and to find our upcoming online programs. Learning opportunities for students and families can be found on our Digital Learning page.
We need your financial support to serve the community during this challenging time and to keep protecting Charlotte’s oldest home, the 1774 Alexander Rock House.
The Charlotte Museum of History welcomes your visit and offers the following information to ensure that all visitors enjoy their time with us.
- Walking and talking are appropriate, while running and shouting are not.
- Food, drinks, gum, and smoking are not allowed anywhere in the museum.
- Our exhibits are delicate, please do not touch exhibits or stand on platforms.
We welcome your questions and if we can provide additional information, please call our Visitor Center at 704-568-1774 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
