Explore the Queen City’s Most Revolutionary Address

A few steps away, you can stand in a space where revolutionary ideas became action. Our 8-acre historic site is home to Charlotte's oldest house, the Alexander Rock House, the only local building still standing from the American Revolution. Its original owner, Hezekiah Alexander, was a Revolutionary statesman and framer of North Carolina's first constitution and bill of rights

At the homesite, we explore our shared history and plan for a brighter future by telling the story of early Charlotte and all those who called this space home.
