Welcome to the Children's Gallery, also known as the Backcountry Gallery, a special space designed for our youngest visitors to dive into Charlotte's rich history through the ages.
Step into our Backcountry gallery where kids can explore Charlotte's past with three model buildings representing different eras: the Catawba Bark House, Log Cabin, and 1774 Rock House. These structures offer a hands-on experience, allowing children to imagine life in early Charlotte. Our gallery also features props and a mini "Charlotte's Industrial History" exhibit, showcasing the city's pivotal roles in gold mining and textile industries.
Additionally, we offer regularly rotating crafts and activities, ensuring there's always something new to discover (while supplies last). Come and spark your child's curiosity with our interactive and educational children's play space!
