A Celebration of Midcentury + Modern Architecture

Each year, the Museum and our committee of community volunteers (aka the "Mod Squad") works with prospective homeowners and community members to curate a selection of homes that represent the diversity of styles and creativity that represent midcentury originals and midcentury modern-inspired homes in the greater Charlotte area. On the day of the tour, attendees are able to step inside to see these defining features and learn more about the history of this time in our city.

The Charlotte Museum of History presents the Mad About Modern Home Tour to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury + modern architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living in the greater Charlotte area. We firmly believe our historic built environment adds value to the Charlotte region.
